Working principle:

 

Drive: The coil is energized to become an electromagnet, attracting the movable iron core, opening the channel inside the pilot head, and the air input port p enters the channel inside the pilot head through the channel inside the valve body, pushing the valve core towards the bottom cover to switch the working state of the solenoid valve.

Reset: When the coil is powered off, the channel inside the pilot head is closed, and the valve core is pushed back by the spring at the end of the bottom cover.

Q: What is the difference between 4V230C-08 and a standard 4V210-08?
A: 4V210-08 is a 5/2 way (2-position) valve - it only switches between two positions. 4V230C-08 is a 5/3 way (3-position) valve - it has a center position where both ports are closed, allowing the actuator to stop and hold mid-position.

Q: What does "closed center" mean?
A: When both solenoid coils are de-energized, the valve automatically returns to the center position. In closed center (C) type, all working ports (A and B) are blocked, so the connected cylinder or actuator stops and holds its current position.

Q: Does this valve consume power when holding the center position?
A: No. Unlike single solenoid valves that require continuous power, double solenoid valves maintain their position without power. Once the valve is in the center position (both coils off), no power is needed to keep it there.

Q: Can this valve be used without electrical power?
A: The valve is electrically controlled, so it requires power to switch positions. However, we also offer manual 5/3 way valves (such as our K34 series) for purely manual applications.

Q: Do I need two separate electrical connections?
